Item Searchbar

Calls something that is on Kiln's roadmap. Parts of it may already run.

Evidence

Ran on Kiln's test stand (2026-11-04): InvSearchClient did not start: java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: Class com.mojang.blaze3d.platform.InputConstants does not have member field 'com.mojang.blaze3d.platform.InputConstants$Key UNKNOWN'.

What it needs from Kiln

  • Mixin
  • com.mojang.blaze3d.platform.InputConstants.Key
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.client.command.v2.ClientCommandRegistrationCallback
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.client.command.v2.ClientCommands
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.client.command.v2.FabricClientCommandSource
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.client.networking.v1.ClientPlayConnectionEvents
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.client.networking.v1.ClientPlayConnectionEvents.Disconnect
  • net.minecraft.core.component.DataComponents
  • net.minecraft.tags.TagKey
  • net.minecraft.world.item.Item.TooltipContext
  • net.minecraft.world.item.TooltipFlag
  • net.minecraft.world.item.TooltipFlag.Default
  • net.minecraft.world.item.component.ItemLore
  • net.minecraft.world.item.enchantment.Enchantment
  • net.minecraft.world.item.enchantment.ItemEnchantments
  • InputConstants.UNKNOWN
  • Object2IntMap.Entry.getKey()
  • Holder.getRegisteredName()
  • Holder.tags()
  • ItemStack.get()
  • ItemStack.getHoverName()
  • ItemStack.getTooltipLines()
  • ItemStack.typeHolder()

On the roadmap: Minecraft's libraries and client API (0.2), Code next to data (0.3), Mixin (0.5)

In the author's words

A persistent search bar on every container screen. Matching items get a yellow highlight, everything else dims, and the query survives closing one chest and opening the next.

Scan

Scanned on 4 November 2026 against Kiln 0.2.0, file invsearch-2.0.0.jar. The scan reads the mod's classes; it does not run them.
