Named Item Preserver

Calls something that is on Kiln's roadmap. Parts of it may already run.

Evidence

Ran on Kiln's test stand (2026-11-04): NamedItemPreserver did not start: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/server/MinecraftServer.

What it needs from Kiln

  • Mixin
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.event.lifecycle.v1.ServerLifecycleEvents
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.event.lifecycle.v1.ServerLifecycleEvents.ServerStarted
  • net.fabricmc.fabric.api.event.lifecycle.v1.ServerLifecycleEvents.ServerStopped
  • net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer
  • net.minecraft.server.players.NameAndId
  • net.minecraft.server.players.PlayerList
  • ServerPlayer.getGameProfile()

On the roadmap: Code next to data (0.3), Mixin (0.5)

In the author's words

Makes item naming mechanically meaningful by preventing natural despawn of named items, while preserving all vanilla loss mechanics like lava and the void.

Scan

Scanned on 4 November 2026 against Kiln 0.2.0, file named-item-preserver-0.1.3.jar. The scan reads the mod's classes; it does not run them.
